Winter break is right around the corner, which means a lot of fun if you are going out of
town or doing something related to that. However, a lot of people may not be so excited because
they are staying home and there is nothing to do, but did you know that even where you live you
can go to amazing nature parks? If you live near Texas, then the Big Bend National Park is a
great fun choice to visit over Christmas break. This park is named after a bend, also known as a
curve in the rio grande, also known as the river that separates the United States from Mexico.
Here hiking is one of the best things to do while you stay at the Chisos Mountains Lodge.
The Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado is very popular for their crazy winter
activities like sledding and skiing. “One of the craziest things I have seen while in the beautiful
park has been elks and mooses, perhaps they become more active during winter,” stated Nayeli
Castillo shared her best memories. If you happen to be a person who does not like snow, the
Death Valley National Park in California must be one of your go-to’s. The park consists of
colorful lands and sand dunes and the weather is at about 67 degrees, warmer than your usual
winter weather.
“Living in Maine may sound quite boring, but the Acadia National Parks makes the state
sound more interesting ” explains Kevin Rodriguez since he has been living in Maine for 5 years.
This park is one of the best hiking parks in the United States, along with one the best vacation
sites. Another beautiful thing about this park is the amazing view of the Atlantic coastline that
makes you wish it was summer all over again.
Just like that there are thousands of other places around the world just like this one that
you could visit. These National Parks are the reason we have got to take care of our world
recycling and being nature friendly is really important especially for those who really care about
