Vincent Van Gogh Museum Coming to Atlanta

Vincent Van Gogh is a famous painter with many famous paintings. The most known paintings are, “The Starry Night” and “Vincent Van Gogh’s Self Portrait.” The Dutch painter also cut off his ear after losing his temper with another artist, Paul Gauguin. Van Gogh had a lot of hallucinations; he ended up shooting himself after finishing his last painting.
His artwork and story is one of a kind that people want to experience. There has been an announcement that an immersive Van Gogh museum is coming to Atlanta in June. The location has not been announced yet, and tickets had already been selling since mid-February. Cyd, a person who bought tickets, shares her excitement and predictions about the museum.
The location of the museum has not been published yet. However, since the museum is made for the audience to seem like they are inside the painting, many people are taking guesses on where the location is going to be. Cyd predicts: “I’m thinking maybe a park downtown or a large green space.” The immersive experience museum did not release their location for several reasons. They also started selling tickets five months in advance. Cyd goes on to explain her thoughts on this topic: “Several reasons probably. There's Covid and they need to secure to make sure everyone's 6 ft apart and meet other Covid restrictions which can change before the event. Plus, this allows the business to be flexible. If there isn't much demand for tickets, they can secure a smaller location. Also, when you have a secret pop-up event everyone’s excited and there's extra buzz because it's mysterious.”
Before the tickets were being sold, there was a waiting list to get tickets. Once the tickets went on sale, people were given a notification letting them know, and from there it was first come first served. Now there are a few tickets left. People have to pick a date and a time to see when they can go. Most of the days and times are taken. Tickets will soon be sold out. People have not been able to actually experience the museum, so there is no telling what the museum will actually be like. People can only rely on hype and what the website says.
While people are seeing what it is like to be “inside” a painting, there will be an audio playing telling the story of Vincent Van Gogh, explaining the painting and why he did the things he did. Cyd states his most famous painting will attract most people: “Starry Night is going to a fan favorite,” Cyd is looking forward to seeing “Almond Blossom.”
