Is Traveling Safe During Thanksgiving?

Is traveling safe during thanksgiving ?                                                  By ximena arreguin

Thanksgiving, is a holiday that is very important in the United States and is celebrated
every last Thursday of November. People tend to travel during this holiday to visit their loved
ones all over the country or even the world. However because of covid-19,just like every
other holiday this year, it had to be celebrated differently or at least it was recommended to do
so. Flying can be really dangerous during this pandemic just like going on a road trip, so why
should we risk it all when we can call each other and be safe?
“I think people these days think that just because covid started a while ago means that
we shouldn't social distance or wear a mask and stay home,” stated Lesli Ventura who has
been following the safety measures since covid started. Family is really important and we should
do whatever it takes to keep everybody healthy, even if it takes missing Thanksgiving dinner.
Some good ways to spend the holidays this year without traveling is having virtual reunions or
phone calls either before the event or even while the event is happening to feel more together.
Traveling during these times is not the best idea and if you can avoid traveling then that is
the best option but if you are about to leave then be sure to follow the safety guidelines to keep
yourself and others healthy from covid-19 and help the world end this nightmare sooner rather
than later. “I am not sure if they are already doing this or not, but it would be awesome if the
airport faculty gave safety kits with things you may need to be safe while traveling,” said Abigail
Espinoza and might travel this following break with all the healthy measures.
All of these months of quarantine should not be taken for granted, we should use them as
motivation to keep going and finally defeat this virus that everybody hates. Now that the vaccine
could be out soon everything could be so much more relaxed but remember to keep wearing a
mask because everything is still very new. Hanging out with friends and family will still be
limited, yes, but remember we are doing this for the good of everybody so that soon enough we
can be living life normal like we used to without covid. Stay safe now, travel later.
