Touchdown Patriots! Antonio Brown, the new superstar for the New England Patriots, caught four passes for 56 yards and a 20-yard touchdown in New England’s 43-0 victory at Miami. Brown was introduced to the Patriots after he asked for a release from the Oakland Raiders on Saturday before the opening of the NFL season on Sunday. He wrote in an instagram post: “"You are gonna piss a lot of people off when you start doing what's best for you. And that's fine! I have worked my whole life to prove that the system is blind to see talent like mines. Now that everyone sees it, they want me to conform to that same system that has failed me all those years. I'm not mad at anyone. I'm just asking for the freedom to prove them all wrong." Release me @raiders #NOMore #theyputblindersonahorseforareason #NoMoreFake.” Now that Brown is on the Raiders, will this superstar get tamed by this new coach and team?
When Brown got signed to the Patriots there was an allegation that said Brown raped his former trainer, Britney Taylor, on three occasions . Not everyone believes that these allegations are true. Duane Ward a student at Hillgrove said, “No, I don't think he raped the girl. I think it’s just rumors, but if it’s true I don’t know that to say.”
Veronica Brown, an active football watcher and a mom to one of the students to Hillgrove High School, says that the only way for Brown to continue playing for the Raiders is to listen to the Patriots coach, Coach Belineck: “Yes. Do some research on Bell Belichick. He does not play the radio. You will play the game. You will not act a donkey, you gone play and be nice. That’s going to be synonymous.” Mrs. Brown knows that Antonio will not be pulling anymore childish antics like he has with the Raiders, but not everyone agrees with that. Ward commented by saying, “No, not really because he is known for throwing a lot of temper tantrums. So it took a lot for them to calm him down.”
A lot of people believe that Brown will be a great edition to the Patriots. Mrs. Brown said, “They wanted him because the boy is a superstar. You just have to work beyond his ego and try to work around it. But you got Belichick now, so you don’t have to worry about it.” However if Brown was ever to get resigned from the Patriots, no one would ever sign him again, not even Mrs. Brown or Mr. Ward. Mrs. Brown commented by saying, “No I would have not signed Brown he brings too much attention to your team. There’s been zero days without incident. There’s been zero days without Antonio Brown news coverage. No we don’t need that kind of publicity on the Buccaneers. We got our own set of issues.” Another Hillgrove student Coh Parks said, “No, I wouldn't have signed him because what your player does put an image on your whole team. So each individual is going to affect how your entire team looks. So, I mean if one person does something bad than that affects the whole team. Like if one person on the football team here gets suspended, then everyone’s going to think, ‘oh the football team is bad.’ You know they’d be doing stuff that gets them suspended, and that just gives them a bad image. So yeah.”
Brown may be a superstar, but he needs to control himself if he wants to become a legend in the making. In order to become that he needs to stop playing games as Brown said and begin to work more on his craft, and work towards his future.
