The “Human Rights Careers” claims the #1 issue in America is poverty. There are multiple reasons why poverty exists but one of them is the rising of prices or inflation. Inflation simplified is prices and services going up and the pricing value of money going down. Obviously, this doesn’t sound like a problem with an easy solution. “Of course, if we keep going up the government will fix it, they'll raise the prices of everything, so we'll stop spending money. Since people are demanding higher wages, the government will have to raise the prices further. People don't want to work for $7/hour anymore, companies are being forced to pay their workers more money and because of that they need to raise their prices. Eventually, it will be solved until we decide everything's too much money, maybe it'll be solved in 2026”, said Kamari Favors, a senior at Hillgrove. Since the prices of everything are going up, low-income families are unable to afford their necessities and because of this the government gives money to certain families. When asked about this issue a mother Leonne Villarson said “It’s good that the government gives money to those in need but, we’ll never feel like we’ll have enough money, and we’ll always ask for more. People should be satisfied with what they have especially if it’s enough to live from with your income.” The government also gives money to those who are unemployed which is very helpful when you’re injured or disabled and are unable to work like able people, but people abuse this fact and this may be a huge factor to money loss and inflation. Leonne Villarson says, “If you're able to work like me and you need money get a job. The government shouldn't use my tax dollars to pay for people who don't need it. Especially when there are so many people who need help and a starting point.” Strikes are a clever way to get your point across to the government. Think about the most influential labor strikes, do you think American workers should strike for better money management? When posed with this question, sophomore Rori Wilson responded “Yes, because lots of people are homeless and inflation is a rising issue. The government doesn't know how to manage our money properly, leaving us poor and unable to buy anything. Even if everything shuts down it’s more important that we’re heard, and our issues are solved.” The world isn’t a perfect place but, there are things we can all do to help our country, community and, our world.
