With the month of April on its way, that means that spring break is on the horizon. For many people, especially high schoolers, it is the best and most exciting break of the year for many reasons. Whether it is having parties on the beach or just relaxing in the pool, spring break usually offers a special kind of downtime for everyone. To get the hype rolling, here are a few picks for some awesome locals for your break this year.
For a more traditional spring break by the beach, Destin Florida is the best place to look. Not only is it bursting with liveliness and good weather, but it is also filled with many fun attractions. One travel site calls the water parks, beaches, and other things to do “a hit with travelers” (taken from travel.usnews.com). Plus, if you are looking for some good food during the break, there are plenty of good restaurants as well.
If one is looking for a great theme park resort to visit, then Universal Orlando is right up your alley. It may not be as vast as the Walt Disney World Resort, but it's amount of pure fun to be had is far superior in my opinion. On top of having a great amount of good food (such as the restaurants at the CityWalk or the amazing deserts in the Harry Potter sections), the two parks are just a complete delight. Whether it's the colorful atmosphere of its areas or the fantastic rides or the pure amount of fan service for fans of movies, Universal Orlando is certainly up there with the greats.
However, for people looking for a more quiet place to spend their vacation, there is no better option than Hilton Head Island. Nothing beats the calm atmosphere, great beaches, and fresh fish of this South Carolina island. Hillgrove student Aiden Scheidegger loves the island herself, and says that her favorite thing there is “going to the lighthouse in Harbortown with my family." While there may be other great places for spring break out there, please be sure to give these three some consideration!
