The United States contracted 100,000 Covid-19 cases in one day. This broke all of the country's previous records. The US currently has the most cases of Covid-19. Many people are wondering what caused the major influx in cases in only one day. There are of course a variety of things that caused this.
Many states are issuing new regulations to prevent too many people from contracting the virus. One major way to get Covid of course is through social gatherings. Elijah, a highschool student, says, “Limit the number of gatherings, as well as mandate masks.” Usually when someone contracts Covid they are not wearing a mask enough. There are many different opinions about masks. Elijah continues, “The experts are saying that they help.” Masks are highly advised by the CDC and are mandatory in some states. This also applies to almost all schools that are offering face to face learning.
As of right now some schools are doing both virtual learning and face to face. Most of these schools have their own protocols and regulations in order to keep everyone safe from the virus. Tristian Vernet, a student, says, “They should make masks more mandated,” and that is what many schools have been doing. With students attending school at this moment, many people wonder what will be expected in the future. A vaccine has been called into question. Tristian says, “My main concerns are the side effects.” It is known that some vaccines can also cause people to get sick, so many are skeptical regarding the possible Covid-19 vaccine. With limited options, the best course of action most states in the US are taking is just creating more regulations. Lanayah Davis, a college student, says, “I would enforce the rules more and not make acceptations.” The lack of enforcement of Covid-19 regulations is also one reason for the influx in cases.
