Stranger Things has had three seasons come out on Netflix. The last season, season three, came out on the Fourth of July of this year. Then on September 30, 2019 the official Stranger Things twitter page dropped a season four teaser video. The Duffer Brothers confirmed that Stranger Things will have a season four. They said filming would take place either around October 2019, the end of 2019, or the beginning of 2020. The Stranger Things fandom can expect the season to come out towards the end of 2020 with about eight episodes. Here is a recap of what has happened.
Out of all the seasons, Nyima Gaye, a fan of Stranger Things, says, “I think my favorite season would be season two, because it was a lot of trauma and things just kept building up and the ending when umm.. What’s his name? Bob? Yea when they were in the little hospital running, like I really like that season.” Tahj Reese, another Stranger Things fan, disagrees. “Season three, because season three had a lot more action and then the story was more developed.” Aman Chohan thought the complete opposite of both, “Stranger Things season one ‘cause that’s like the epicness, that's like that’s where everything started to be real. I- If there was no demogorgon that pulled up in episode one and scared the shhh out of the little kids, it wouldn’t have happened to be real.”
Season one had a lot of foundation to lay and different people have different opinions on how they felt about it. When we were first introduced to Eleven, Gaye thought “She was kind of like an abandoned child...I didn’t think that she had like all those abilities and stuff like that.” There where many things from season one that people loved, especially the Christmas lights and Eggos. “Oh yeah, the Christmas lights for sure because they kinda showed that Will was still alive and not dead like everyone thought he was,” Reese says. In season one, the audience found out a lot about the characters presented. Like Hopper’s past with his daughter. “Yea, that tore me up. That really did tear me up. I know how it feels to lose someone that close to you. So yea, that actually kinda hurt,” Chohan says.
Season two filled viewers in about things from season one and set them up for season three. The Duffer brothers also included some real romances, like the love triangle between Nancy, Jonathan, and Steve. “Jonathan, because I think he deserved somebody and he really liked her,” Gaye says as she explains who she wanted Nancy to end up with. Nancy did end up with Jonathan, but Steve acquired a whole group. “Nah, the way Steve did it, he did it like he actually had a connection with the kids instead of treating them like kids,” Reese replies. Although one love triangle would have been enough, the Duffer brothers gave us two: Joyce, Hopper, and Bob. “Hopper, Hopper, Hopper. Team Hopper. Who the **** is Bob? Hopper is Hopper. Ain’t nobody gonna be like Hopper.” Chohan says.
Season three gave the whole audience heart aches and happy moments. Billy’s death scene could be considered one or the other. “Billy, because even though he was kind of- he was kind of like um rough in the beginning, but I don't think he deserved to die the way he did. The Duffer brothers even gave the audience an LGBTQ character. “Um it surprised me because I thought she had a crush on Steve for the longest.” Reese says. Chohan did not seem to like a lot of the relationships for season three. “No. Max no. No Eleven should not be with someone who looks like Allie. But yea like I was saying Joyce and Hopper that’s, that’s a romance. That’s something I dream to have.”
Many conspiracies have been made about season four of Stranger Things. “I have not.” Gaye states that she hasn't heard of any. Reese says, “Oh yea. That Hopper and Billy are still alive…” But according to Chohan the most popular one is, “That all the monsters are coming back all at the same time versus the whole crew and spoiler alert Eleven may not be there.” Overall the Stranger Things fandom is getting a new season added to the series.
