The time has finally come for one of the most beloved movie series to come to an end. From the end of the Senate to the beginning of a new rebellion, Star Wars has provided us with lasting entertainment and held a place in many hearts, so when the series came to an end with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, many people took the time to savor the last movie, but did it live up to the high demand that the other movies?
Camden stated, “I think it was an excellent movie, but it just left too many unfinished character stories, like Finn. I think his character was very well designed and I expected the directors and scriptwriters to finish off his arc, but it never happened.” He also stated, “What I got from the opening scene was that somehow Palpetine was able to come back to life and Ben was going to help him with whatever he was going to do, which I assumed was to take over command of the New Order.” He then said, “I was kind of shocked that they would ‘kill off’ C3PO, an original character that had appeared in every single movie. I mean he was not my favorite character in the franchise, but I liked him.” He then stated, “Again, I was kind of surprised by Leia dieing, but it kind of fits with the theme, like the old rebellion is dying off and this new group of people are going to rise up in their places.”
Joel stated, “I enjoyed the movie a lot. It was a fitting end to a very good movie series and even though the prequels might be better than the sequels, I liked it alot.” He goes on to state, “The change from Kylo Ren to Ben Solo gave me the feeling that he had finally given up on the New Order and decided to be good for a change.” He then states, “I think the opening scene was meant to show Ben’s hatred of how Rey did not accept his offer to join the New Order and how he wanted to get revenge on her.” He also said, “When I first saw him, I thought that [Ben] was going to remain part of the New Order until someone kills him.”
Jared stated, “I enjoyed the movie just as much as I enjoyed the others. I thought that the movie was very good and I am satisfied with this ending.” He also states, “I think Rey’s first scene helped get the movie rolling and gave us a little insight on what had happened after the previous movie, The Last Jedi.” He then says, “When Rey shot lightning out of her fingers, I immediately thought of the first time when Palpetine shot the sith lightning.” He also said, “I was kind of expecting it since rey had shot lightning out of her hands, but I had my doubts.”
With the end of a decade comes the end of a beloved movie franchise. The rebellion finally won and the Order was brought down to its knees, a fitting end for a magnificent series.
