Georgia Snow Days

Snow can be a very controversial topic. People's views on snow in general can be different for everyone because everyone is affected differently. For Charlotte Concilio, she says, “I love snow days because it's nice to have a break especially during the last couple weeks of school.” For a lot of people, students in particular, being able to stay home because of snow allows them to have less stress about what is going on. Isabella Cascio says, “When the school gives snow days it makes me less stressed because I have an extra day to do my school work and it also gives me time to catch up on sleep.” Most students probably favor having snow just for the mere fact that school is cancelled for a certain amount of time.
Kyla Clark also loves snow days. She talks about what she enjoys most about snow days. She says, “I enjoy most about the snow is that it rarely comes because it's a rare occasion. I also think it's the prettiest thing ever to look up and see the snow falling.” Isabella describes her favorite memory from a snow day in her past. She comments, “My favorite memory on a snow day was when my whole family sat down and watched a Christmas movie and played board games.” Kyla also adds, “One of my favorite memories from a past snow day is I was outside and getting ice and bringing it inside for my Grandma so she could make shaved ice when I was little. But, recently, one of the things is making a trash can top into a sled to use in the snow in my yard.”
While snow days can be really fun for kids and students, they can also be very dangerous. Some people are not prepared for the extreme weather conditions and others are just uneducated about what to do on the roads. Kyla comments on what she hates most about the snow. She explains, “People can get into a lot of wrecks and it's really dangerous.” She later on also adds to that statement by saying, “It can also be dangerous because people in Georgia are not used to a lot of snow so they don't know how to react to it and how to drive in it because they could get like stuck out in the snow and like die pretty much.”
Overall, snow days have their ups and downs but snow for students is like the best present to receive. So far, Georgia has only seen ice this year but students` wishes may come true later on into winter.
