If you visited Hillgrove last year, you will notice some significant changes that have been made this year. Specifically, the construction on the school's side: they are currently renovating Hillgrove so they can put in more classrooms. This will benefit the school, but will it benefit the students?
Since construction is currently being done in the back part of the lot where the bus port and students who are eligible to drive enter and leave, there has been some recognizable difference in the transportation times and the exceeding amount of traffic the current construction has caused. What are some ways you can reduce the chance of being late or stuck in traffic? The best way is to wake up earlier. "I wake up at 6 and leave at 7, so I get there early," said the current car rider, Aitana Parker. Set your alarm for an earlier time than what you usually set it for so you can be ready and out the door. I know it might be hard to wake up earlier than you usually do, but it will help you in the long run.
Although the construction right now will cause conflict with transportation, you can benefit from the results. Since the construction is for building extra classes, your kids will have more choices for their electives and core classes, but also more rules will be set in place since there will be changes in the school and it may not be as safe as it was before. "Probably like you can't take elevators and the time limit to get to class might change again," said current sophomore A ‘Layla Knowles We don’t know what kind of rules will be set in place, but since the lot is bigger, there are higher chances they will deal with getting around the school.
Will the school's construction really affect you though? "Probably in some areas like the traffic and the cars, but so far it seems the same as normal aside from teachers being in different classrooms." So said Yaritza Govea. So, no, it may change a few things, but it will overall not affect you.
