Riverdale Launches A Brand New Season

       The hit show Riverdale airs on The CW from eight p.m. to nine p.m. Riverdale originally came from the comic series called the Archie Comics. As of right now, the show has produced over 60 episodes since it has aired. It mainly focuses on the main characters (core four), Archie Andrews (Kj Apa), Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart), Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) and Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes).

       Season four of Riverdale premiered on October 9, 2019. The first episode of the new season was mainly focusing on the death of Fred Andrews (Luke Perry) and remembering his character. This premiere showed how Archie was dealing with his father's death and his friends being there for him.

       Season four will bring in many obstacles and plots from the previous season to help shape another successful season.

       The first episode focused mostly around Perry and his devastating passing. Hillgrove senior, Anna Wallace, felt that this episode gave justice to Perry. She said, “Yes, I enjoyed the first episode and thought it did justice to his character and Luke.” She continued on to say how the producers should not leave him out in the upcoming episodes. She said, “I hope they continue to talk about him and not just drop the storyline like they do all the time.”

      Regardless of him being mentioned on the show, high schooler, Sindi Guzman, feels that the show will be different without Perry. He stated, “This show would be different without Luke because his character was so huge and loved on the show.” The show’s success will help make this season great. People even believe that this season will do better than previous seasons. Guzman feels the same. He said, “Season four is gonna be better than the previous seasons because there’s multiple storylines that’s going on in Riverdale.” Ninth grader, Ava Quinn thinks that Riverdale is very entertaining. She exclaimed, “Yes, it is entertaining and I love a good drama show!” Quinn even has a favorite character. She explained, “ My favorite character is Jughead Jones. He did start of as a born on the wrong side of the tracks weirdo living in a trailer with his alcoholic father. Throughout the seasons his character has finessed into a loved son with a sheriff of a father with a loving girlfriend and a cosy house attending an incredible school.” There are many characters in Riverdale that people can love or relate to. 

          The show can be seen to have more seasons in the future because of all the great ratings it has received. Guzmans sees it having more seasons. He stated, “If the fourth season goes well, then I see riverdale having future seasons.” He later said, “I think riverdale should have more seasons.” Riverdale is one of the most popular drama shows and the new season will be nothing less than a success.
