Oscars 2021 Outfits Hit or Miss

April 25,2021 was Hollywood’s biggest night, The Oscars. It was one of the first real big red-carpet events since the pandemic celebrities came to show off and not all of them were a hit. After a big event like this, people from home like to share their opinions on each celebrities’ outfits, especially the terrible ones.
Starting off with the misses, Reese Witherspoon, wore a red Dior dress with beautiful ruching and an asymmetrical neckline. However, the black belt ruined the entire look of the dress. Laura Dern had the most puzzling dress of the night, she was wearing a simple black long-sleeved mock neck before giving away to a ridiculous asymmetrical feathered skirt that fell below the hips. This look was created by Oscar de la Renta. However, her shoes were people's favorite of the night, wearing a sweet crystal-embellished pointy-toe pumps.
Now on the hits of the night, Caret Mulligan made a huge statement on the Academy Awards, Oscars, this year, showing up in a beautiful two-piece Valentino design. A bandeau top and high-waisted full skirt, which included an amazing train, were in matching shimmery and bold gold fabric. Sticking with the gold theme, Andra Day’s custom Vera Wang Haute confection is made entirely out of metal. It’s shimmery frock featured a wide cutout at the waist on one side and a huge slit to expose her leg on the other side. Even though her dress was not a fan favorite, her jewels certainly were, worth over two million dollars of Tiffany and Co. diamond earrings, bracelet, and ring.
The lady in red, Amanda Seyfried, went for a bold red Armani gown. Cyd Segui, someone who is very into fashion and loves to give their opinion on other people’s outfits, said, “Her dress was giving off old Hollywood vibes.” The plunging that happens at the neckline of the dress that Seyfried was wearing was stunningly unexpected. The only component that messed up Amanda Seyfried’s look was the purple lip, segui stated, “If she would’ve gone with a red lip instead of purple the look would be 10/10.”
It is obvious that the Oscars red carpet is a huge event that celebrities go all out for. The dress is not the only component of having a good look, celebrities need to have their makeup and hair on point as well.
