We have gotten many new teachers this year, but the newest has to be Mrs. Walker, the audio video technology and film teacher. Ever since she was young, Mrs. Walker has been a Powder Springs girl. She started her education at Compton Elementary near McEachern, she then progressed to Lovinggood as part of their news team where they live-casted news every morning. This lead to Mrs. Walker’s love of live production. In high school, Mrs. Walker attended Hillgrove when it was run by principal Joe Boland and later Robert Shaw. During her time at Hillgrove, Mrs. Walker completed all of the video production classes. She was also part of the bowling team, which helped send her to college, and was the video production manager for soccer. After graduating in 2011 from Hillgrove High School, Mrs.Walker received a scholarship from the University of Alabama, where she majored in broadcast communications and minored sports and entertainment marketing. She used her college education to help her film with major companies such as ESPN3, the Atlanta Braves, Birmingham Barons baseball team, and UAB athletics. Mrs. Walker is really excited to be back at Hillgrove this year!
