New Covid-19 Death Toll
By: Andy Garcia
Corona virus has spread all over the world, it is a pandemic and has become one of the worst pandemics modern society has ever seen. Corona Virus can spread through touch, sneezes, and coughs. The Virus was first reported on December 31st, 2019 and is still around today. In an effort to stop the spread of the virus people are recommended to social distance and wear masks.
Dylan Garcia said, “People can try and stay home and when they do go out they should always wear masks.” Coronavirus is continuing to spread making people vulnerable to getting it. This virus can be fatal, as we have seen in recent months, and because of reluctant mask wearers the U.S. death daily toll has increased. Doing things such as social distancing and wearing a mask at all times when around other people can protect everyone including yourself. Dylan continued, “Stay indoors, wear masks, wash your hands, these are big steps into lowering case numbers and death count.” These are everyday things you can do in order to slow the spread and stop the possibility of a new record of corona case or deaths in a day. CoronaVirus poses a lot of threats to businesses, everyday people, and even the economy.
Damien a senior says, “Jobs can close down, People lose their jobs due to not enough money to be paid, not enough customers to keep smaller restaurants open.” There are many ways Corona virus can affect the economy and everyday people if it continues to worsen. Damien continued, “CDC guidelines are a great way to practice social distancing and wearing a mask can stop the spread of the virus, as of right now we need to do everything we can to stop it from spreading.” The CDC has put out guidelines and rules everyone should use in order to stay safe and healthy.
Matt Jordan said, “It can take up space and resources of hospitals and space for people that have other emergencies can be limited… Not enough space for everyone that needs to see doctors or be in the hospital.” If CoronaVirus continue to rise in number cases and deaths the hospitals will continue to lose more and more resources and more doctors will be occupied taking care of sick people and will not have enough people to take care of other emergencies. Hospitals can start to become overcrowded and pushed to its max capacity. Matt continued, “Many people are staying home and working from home, many students have chosen to stay home and work, study, and even take tests.” In efforts to stop this spread and prevent future issues many kids are attending online school and adults are working from home.
Coronavirus needs to be taken with all seriousness and people need to do everything in order to stay safe. Corona poses a big threat, but people can lower that threat if they do things such as wearing masks and social distancing. There are a total of 15.2 million cases in the United States alone and people need to do everything possible to stop that number from increasing.
