National College Signing Day is in the first Wednesday of February every year. This year, six senior football players signed on National College Signing Day. Four of them, Christian Reevey committed to play football at Shorter University, Jason Pierce committed to play football at Jacksonville State University, Jalen Jackson committed to play football at Kennesaw State University and Josh Mathis committed to play football at Cumberland University.
This day is full of joy, happiness, hope, courage and parents feeling so blessed and proud of their child. College Signing Day is one of the biggest days of seniors in high schools lives. This day in February is only for soccer, football ,and water pollo. Other days are in November and April from all other sports. The day they decide and commit to the school that they will pursue either their dream in the athletic field. Most recognized signing days you usually see young athletes committing to play football in big college/ universities.
Talking to many of the athletes from Hillgrove who signed all mostly said that, “My dream as a little kid was to sign on National Signing Day and be able to go to a school and pursue my athletic dream and my educational career.” Many of these young athletes live for the day they get to sign just like every other NFL player once has signed in high school with the hopeful dreams of getting far in the sport field.
