How would it feel to know when you were going to die? Well, there is an app that tells you down to the exact second. In the movie Countdown, people download an app that tells them when they die, a certain amount of people got only a couple of days or hours to live according to the app. Obviously them not thinking clearly they decided to download the game blindly. That is how it all begins, people around the world start dying from freak accidents or they are just coincidences to the countdown on the app. Quinn Harris starts to realize the weird alignments with her patients death and the number on their app (00 00 00). She starts to freak out since she downloaded the app with the rest of her coworkers, besides one. Since no one read the contract, no one really knew the rules or regulations for it. This is showing the audience not to blindly go into something without knowing exactly what they are getting themselves into.
Quinn meets a guy named Matt Monroe who has the same intentions of surviving the app since he is only around twenty years old. Quinn’s sister, Jordan, decides to download the app blindly just like her sister did and only has around the same time as Quinn to survive. They all go on a quest to find out a way to survive. They are lead to Pastor Dan, a quite knowledgeable person in the area of demons since that is what they had on their hands, an angry, mind- tricking demon. He comes up with the idea that since they broke all their contracts, (their first true way to die) the demon was going to come and torment them in their last seconds of life. From the pastor’s religious background, he comes up with a solution that should be able to keep them all safe from the demon. Matt sees a projection of his little brother that died years ago but still is tricked since his emotions take over and he does not think things through. He steps out of the circle and the demon then drags him to harm's way, Matt is then killed by a car ramming him into a tree. After this it Quinn goes back to make sure her sister is safe from the demon. They come up with another idea, more dangerous than the last, it was kind of part of the first plan but they wanted everyone to live. Someone has to die before their time on the countdown goes off, even if it is only a second. Quinn decides she will take the doctor’s life who tried to rape her, but then realizes that it is not going to work, so she kills herself to save her sister. Quinn being a smart doctor directs her sister to a way to bring her back to life so they can live happily ever after, but will they?
