A Fall From Grace? More Like a Fall for Tyler Perry!

On January 17, 2020, Tyler Perry’s latest movie, A Fall From Grace was released on Netflix. The movie was shot in five days, and was written, directed, and produced by Tyler Perry. The movie was about a lady, Grace, who fell in love with a man, who later found out was her best friend’s son, who stole a lot of money from her. Perry’s movie was trending on many platforms, which caused many discussions.
Sarjeane Merilien, a watcher of “A Fall From Grace, was among many who had some things to say about the movie. “In the scene where she was in jail and she was talking to her lawyer, her hair changed many times, it just looked unprofessional,” Sarjeane states. One of the main things that caused the movie to trend were the mistakes. Throughout the movie, viewers caught numerous mistakes, including prop mistakes, wardrobe, acting, and more.
Laila Mills, also got the chance to watch the movie and she seemed to enjoy it. Laila states, “My favorite part is how at the end when they tied up the movie and showed how her boyfriend was her bestfriend’s son.” A great number of people seemed to love the plot. They loved the fact that the movie was unpredictable. You could not guess how the movie would end. Laila also reveals, “I actually think I would rate the movie an 8.5 out of 10, if the acting was better, it would have been a ten.” Another complaint the viewer had was the poor acting. In a certain scene, Grace and her date go out to eat. However, in the background you witness the extras eating and drinking air. Fans are not too happy about the mistakes and they view it as being very unprofessional.
Amaya, a fan of Tyler Perry’s works, had some opinions on the movie. Amaya states, “If I could change one thing, I would change how it began. It should have been more interesting because, when I was watching the movie, I was going to click out because I was bored.” In The Fall From Grace, Tyler decided to build the suspense before dropping the plot twist. However, this somewhat backfired because the building of the suspense was not too interesting, causing people to not watch till the end. Amaya then continued with, “No they [Tyler Perry’s movies] are not outdated, they are funny and they represent my black history, black families, all of that.”Though the movie was filled with plenty of mistakes, fans still love Perry and his works.
Overall, the movie received a numerous amount of backlash, however, fans still look forward to Tyler’s upcoming works.
