Maleficent, one of the most commonly known villains in the world. The Sleeping Beauty movie that came out 1959 portrayed Maleficent as an evil person that hated everyone. In the recent Maleficent movie Maleficent and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, they told the backstory of why she showed such hatred towards humans. In the first movie Maleficent was a vulnerable young adult that just wanted to be loved by others, until she was betrayed by the one she loved when Maleficent’s ex boyfriend decided to take her wings. When she meets the one she calls Beasty a.k.a Sleeping Beauty she became a more light hearted person (more caring towards the humans). In the second movie, Aurora (Beasty) meets a prince from the other side of the mores and he asks her to marry him, she says yes but Maleficent still recents most of the humans says she is not allowed to marry him. Against all of her morals she decides to go to the palace and the queen stars accusing her of a terrible treason.
Maleficent was the only person Aurora has ever known as a parent but she still decided to doubt her do to what other people accused her of.
Maleficent just so happens to disappear right after all of the mess. Aurora still plans on marrying the prince no matter if she ever gets to see Maleficent again.
The children that have been told the story of the evil queen of the Moors have gotten it all wrong for many years. Camille Blackwell states “My favorite part was when Maleficent was being shown around the underground nest and she was watching the kids learn how to fly and she just looked so happy.” that just shows how Maleficent was never a bad person, just misunderstood because of what has happened to her in the past. Maleficent: Mistress of Evil was all about the peace being brought between the Moors and the humans. The prince’s father was all about bringing peace between the two worlds, but the queen was all about destroying the inhabitants of the Moors and taking all of their needs for survival. Aurora finally finds out about the queen’s evil plans and decides to tell the prince, but the Dark Fairies (Maleficent’s species) were already there to destroy the palace and everything with it so they can be free from hatred. After Maleficent is killed by the queen, Aurora finally realizes how much she really cares about Maleficent. With her tears Maleficent is brought back in the shape of an black phenix. She helped bring the peace back to the land after all the blood shed, and saved Aurora from the queen trying to murder her. “I think Maleficent was my favorite because of how she progressed through the movie and how you saw her from a different perspective.” Ms. Blackwell states, showing that even when a person or story is told to be one thing it is not always as it seems Maleficent finally saw the kindness in the humans hearts, she let Beasty marry the prince.
So you see, the story is not quite as you were told, Maleficent is the good one and everyone that has misjudged her ends up being evil. Depending on how the person see the story no one has the right to not hear someone out about their past life and accuse them to be something or someone they are not.
