Los Angeles Lakers vs. Miami Heat Finals
Adrian Barnes
The Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat faced off on September 30th for the finals between the eastern conference and the western conference. The finals are a series of seven games which will determine the winning team of the NBA championship for this year. After the winner is determined the team will get a celebratory trophy and every individual player will get a ring as a token of victory. The Lakers and Miami Heat, have an excellent team, and watching the two face-off will be very exciting to watch.
I asked a lot of people about predictions on how the series of games would turn out at the end of the finals. Michael explains that he predicts the Lakers will win the seven-game series because, “I really like how there is a whole bunch of people on the team that can get the ball and score when they need to.” Continued to ask about their play style and what set them apart from each other. A commonly asked question would the Miami heat defensively shut down the Lakers, “Yes, because the first two games and what I read about the Miami Heat's zone defense was really giving the Lakers a struggle on offense.” Everyone has their money on the Lakers.
Although the seven-game series is not over yet, the teams are fighting and leaving their blood, sweat, and tears on the court. The Lakers have won game one, and some people are upset over the loss. Xavier states, “They are an exceptional team, but I think their bench was the downfall of them. I will say that Bam Adebayo was very aware of a defensive end for the Miami Heat during Game 1.” We all know that the game can go either way. Xavier continued, “To be honest, I do not know because no one expected Tyler Herro to have that good of a game. So I think the better offense because they did not score a lot in the second half of the game, so, if they work that out, I think we will have a different story on the scoreboard.”
The series is not over, everyone knows that the game could go both ways. Although the Los Angeles Lakers took the first two games, the Miami Heat was able to stop the Laker’s momentum and completely shut down their opponents during the third game. There are still four more games left, and it all depends on the Heat’s and Laker’s work ethic and determination.
