The popular reality television show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians (KUWTK) is
coming to an end after 20 seasons. The show premiered on October 14, 2007 and soon gained
many people’s attention. Keeping Up With the Kardashians was created and produced by Ryan
Seacrest. In addition, the show was filmed in Los Angeles and featured the family’s not so
ordinary lives. Kris, Kylie, Kendall, Kim, Khloe, Kourtney and Scott Disick were all part of the
main cast in the show, and other family members were featured throughout the season as well.
The show focuses on the personal and professional lives of the Kardashian- Jenner blended
family. In other words, KUWTK previewed the family’s growth and success as a whole and
served its purpose by bringing the family closer together. Although, the family made an
announcement in early September sharing that they made a hard decision to end the show after
14 years and countless episodes.
As if 2020 could not get any worse the awful news about KUWTK ending is having fans
devastated. Lorina Alborado, a Mom of three children states, “I am sad because the show was a
bonding time for my daughters and I, and now the show is unfortunately coming to an end”. Ms.
Alborado continued to say, “I will miss the moments the Kardashians had together as a family,
like the holiday, birthday and Christmas parties”.
While it seems like there was drama behind the scenes of KUWTK, fans still have their
inputs as to why the show is ending. London Jackson, a Sophomore at Hillgrove High School
says, “I think the show is ending probably because they have had their time…”Kourtney was
already saying how she was tired of all the cameras and the stress it puts on her, so maybe the
family decided it was time to move forward”. London went on to explain, “I think it was the
Kardashians decision to end the show because they have been doing it for such a long time and
they want to move on to different things for the future”.
Many people can agree that the reality television show has completely taken over the
Kardashians lives. 15 year old Lauryn Brown says, “I think the producers should have given
more privacy to the kids and other family members because some of the scenes that they filmed
were a little too personal and there were cameras everywhere…”I feel like the cast could not get
a break”. Lauryn also explained how she thought the producers and camera crew could have
done a better job featuring other family members in show like Kylie and Kendall, because they
were often not shown in the episodes.
Keeping Up With the Kardashians has been a massive global hit since the show aired in
2007. The reality television show turned the Kardashian- Jenner family into worldwide
superstars. Fans across the globe are devastated about the shows last season airing in early 2021.
The Kardashians explained how the show shaped their careers and how they would not be where
they are today if it were not for their supporters. Without the show, many fans would not be
inspired or impacted by the lives of the Kardashians and the successful women they are today.
