Juice Wrld was a famous rapper from Chicago, Illinois. He died on Sunday December 8, 2019 from a having a seizure due to a drug overdose at Chicago Midway Airport. There are many suspicious facts about his death that raises some red flags for his fans. In his popular song Legends one of the lines in the song Juice Wrld says, “We ain’t making it past 21.” This is alarming because just six days before his death was is 21st birthday. Also, in his song All Girls Are The Same Juice Wrld says, “I’m a jealous boy, really feel like John Lennon.” This is weird because John Lennon died on December 8, 1980. This is the same date as the death Juice Wrld just 39 years later. Lastly, he posted a tweet saying ,“My goal is to get overly famous shine for a couple of years..then fake my death.”
The pilot of the plane found out there would be guns and other illegal things on the plane, so the pilot informed police. Federal agents went through Juice Wrld’s private jet in search of narcotics. There were two loaded luggage carts that police K9 units were sent to investigate. They found 70 pounds of marijuana and six bottles of prescription codeine couch syrup. Later, authorities searched the plane and found two 9 mm pistols, a .40-caliber pistol, and a high-capacity ammunition magazine and metal-piercing bullets.
There are three different theories on how or why Juice Wrld overdosed. Juice Wrld had a drug problem and was very open about it on social media. On his twitter he posted a tweet saying “Addiction kills all.” he also vowed to quit prescription drug use. The first is that he knew the police were coming and he did not want to get in trouble for also having Percocets so he took them so the police would not find them. Dani Primiano, a Hillgrove senior, states, “I don’t think that’s why, because if he knew the police were coming, he would already be in a lot of trouble so one less charge isn’t really going to make that big of a difference.” This makes sense because, some of the other charges he was about to face were a lot higher, so why not worry about those?
The second theory is that when he heard about the police coming he got very stressed and took some pills to relax himself. Tori Phelps, a sophomore at Hillgrove, stated, “I think this one is the least likely to have happened because he knew if was going to have to talk to the police so why would he do that before talking to them.” This seems to be the least likely of the three. There are too many little issues with this theory.
The last theory is that he did not want to go to jail so he did it with the intention to overdose. Mackenzie Bond, a Hillgrove senior, stated,
“This theory honestly makes the most sense to me. Like, not saying that’s a great reason for doing it, but to me it is the most logical.” This is the most common theory.
