IT is a horror film and novel. Written by Stephen King and directed by Andres
Muschietti. IT is an ancient, shape-shifting being that terrorises and haunts others with their
greatest fears. Throughout the movie, Pennywise the Dancing Clown, IT, terrorises a group of
teens that live in the town of Derry. This group of teens have to overcome their greatest fears and
put and end to Pennywise. IT’s release date was September 8th 2017, and since then has made
700.4 million US dollars. According to 2019 Yearly Box Office, IT: Chapter Two came out
September 6th, 2019 and is ranked number seven on the Total Grosses of All Movies Released in

Chapter Two made over one million dollars in four thousand movie theaters. IT: Chapter Two
has blown up on YouTube. The trailer has gotten over seventy-eight million views and over one
million likes on YouTube. Even students from Hillgrove High School are raving about it.
Kellie Castillo is a sophomore at Hillgrove High School and would like to share her
experience watching IT: Chapter Two. She states, “ Yeah I agree during the movie I was having
a heart attack. It was either because I was laughing too hard or because I was scared out of my
mind. Most of my friends were knocked out during the movie so I was awake with my friend and
we were literally clinging for our lives.” Many have suggested that seeing IT: Chapter Two is
nerve-rattling and will make you jump out of your seat. She suggests, “ I like scary movies and
not because of like I’m not easy to scare. I’m very easy to scare, but like when I watch them I
feel like a thrill while watching.”
Even though scary movies are not a popular genre according to Box Office Revenue,
“ Films within the drama, adventure, action and drama movie genres generated the most box
office revenue in the years between 1995 and 2019.” Michelle Aliu is a sophomore at Hillgrove
High School and she knows more about IT: Chapter Two than anyone else. She says, “ Because
IT has many shapes, sizes, and different creatures so I’m guessing it was named IT because you
never know what exactly it will be.” In the movies IT and IT: Chapter Two, Pennywise the
Dancing Clown is a shape-shifting, evil being that torments people with their biggest fears.
Others say that they love this plot because it conveys a good message to the audience. Michelle
states, “ Maybe once you put your mind to it and face your fears you can do it.” IT: Chapter Two
has risen to top charts on Total Grosses of All Movies Released in 2019. IT: Chapter Two will
bring you the right amount of thrill, laughter and will teach you how to face your fears and
overcome obstacles, but before you watching it make sure you watch the first one, or else
