Almost every year, Apple Inc. releases a new phone. This year was no different. On September 13th, in Cupertino California, Apple announced their newest innovation: the iPhone XS. This is the biggest iPhone ever made and includes fascinating functions never before seen.
In the last three years, four iPhones has been released. These range from the iPhone five in 2012 to the iPhone X in 2017. With each year, the company promises its customers new features and they never disappoint. This is what makes iPhones stand against their competitors. They aim to satisfy the needs of their customers and listen carefully to demand. For example, the finger identification that was added to the iPhone six in 2014. Their buyers wanted to maintain privacy but stop the hassle of forgetting your password. Also, there was a huge problem when you enter your password incorrectly and the phones locked you out. To solve this problem Apple added a thumb print identification on the home button. This is not only easy access to the owner but an efficient way to keep privacy of the individual.
In the newest release Apple promises a new screen called the “Super Retina”, it comes in two sizes starting at six and a half inches, the largest screen ever on a iPhone. The camera is now dual action which allows a faster, more effective face identification. The camera provides a large range of color gamut and a wider stereo sound for videos. Not only has Apple upgraded in its camera quality, but in storage capacity as well. The capacity in the iPhone XS is now 512 gigabytes compared to the last iPhone’s of about 256 gigabytes. Consistent iPhone buyers like Ming Li, can not wait for the new iPhone and is especially excited for the storage amount. Li “constantly has storage problems” with her iPhone 6 and is “excited for the new release.”
There has been a growing feud between iPhone users and Samsung users from some time now.The conflict usually intensifies with each companies new release and then arguments are exchanged on social media. The iPhone XS release was no different. Abby Richards, a samsung user of six years, continuously buys Samsung Galaxies for their high quality cameras and bashes iPhones for their high prices. (The iPhone XS price starts at a striking $999) However, Mikayla Poole, a technology enthusiast, praises Apple for their higher prices because you are paying “what it's worth” and mocks samsungs galaxies for the “fuzzy front cameras.”
No matter the preference on phone choices, the iPhone XS and Apple in general continues to keep consumers talking.
