Everyone’s favorite sequel of a family of superheroes is back fourteen years later! Most of the attention was on a competing animated film, but this is the one that turned out to be a huge box-office success. Incredibles 2 was released on June 15, 2018 which was very interesting, due to the fact that the first Incredibles movie was released on November 2004. “It's not smart to do a sequel right after the original movie.”, Aiyah Vickers proclaims. Aiyah felt like Brad Bird, the director and writer of Incredibles 2, made a good decision on waiting and spending his time on the movie. Everything about this movie has a very concrete feel to it. Incredibles 2 picks up right after the original movie where the family takes on the Underminer, who popped up at the very end of The Incredibles.
The original Incredibles movie was about a computer-animated tale of a family of superheroes, the Incredibles got drawn out of a forced retirement to face the evil Syndrome and his killer robot. The Incredibles is a fantastic story, wonderfully scripted and has great animation. It provides a perfectly rounded story with plenty of action and laughs, as well as Incredibles 2. These two movies are very well balanced.
The Incredibles is the first Pixar movie to feature an entirely human cast of characters. Brad Bird came to Pixar with the lineup of the story's family members worked out: a mom and dad, both suffering through the dad's midlife crisis, a shy teenage girl, a cocky ten-year-old boy, and a baby. The characters in Incredibles 2 demonstrate teamwork as the family works together to fight crime. The emotions they convey in what they say and do came across convincing. Toni Carter believes that, “The main goal of the movie is to prove superheroes are necessary because in the first Incredibles, superheroes were banned”. Brad Bird looked at the stereotypes facing each member of a family and used them to create the powers of each character. So in this case, men were expected to be strong, which is why Bob had super strength; mothers are always pulled in a series of different directions, which is why Mrs. Incredible was elastic girl; teens are insecure and defensive, so Violet had the powers of force fields and invisibility; and lastly, ten year old’s are balls of energy with unknown personalities, maybe they have all powers or maybe they do not. No one knows.
