There are many thoughts on the topic of immigration. Society has heard many different opinions from politicians, experts, and other opinionated groups. However, many individuals that are on the younger side of society don't express their opinions on this issue. Many are a lot more educated on this topic than it may seem. Immigration: the action of coming to live permanently in a foreign country. With this definition comes with a lot of controversial opinions. Everyone’s opinion should be considered no matter the belief. A series of interviews were taken place to get the insight on what teenagers really feel about common issues in the world, such as, the mistreatment on illegal immigrants. The first interviewee is Taylor Wright in the 10th grade. As a sophomore, her thoughts on illegal immigration were that “Illegal immigration is not as bad as people make it out to be. In my opinion, if they have a clear background check they should be allowed in.” She continually gave her opinion that immigrants coming for a better life should be allowed to stay. Furthermore, interviewee Aydan Wells believes that the government is corrupted and does not care about its people. “It is not that hard. All they must do is stop treating these immigrants as animals and look at them as people because no one is illegal on stolen land.” She says, “America would benefit from allowing more people into the U.S because in reality immigrants will take the jobs that average Americans are ‘too good’ for.” A final interviewee named Brenan Jett claims, “illegal immigration is ‘valid’ sometimes, but I can see how it can be harmful.” Continually he states, “I think everyone should be allowed in the U.S unless they are criminals.” He begins to go on about how illegal immigration should not be as big of a deal as everyone makes it out to be, often people are just trying to make a better life for their family. As shown, it does not matter the age, rank, gender, or race, everyone can form their own opinions and everyone’s opinions should be heard especially on serious topics on what is happening in the world.
