The Milwaukee Buck’s budding superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo has been on a warpath this season. He’s tearing through opposing teams and filling up the stat line like a Greek god on a mission.
Antetokounmpo finished last season winning the NBA’s “Most Improved Player” award and has come back and seems to have gotten even better in the offseason. Last season he averaged 22.9 points, 8.8 assists, and 5.4 rebounds per game. As of October 24th, he has greatly improved his numbers and is now averaging 36.8, 5.3, and 10.8. This almost seven-foot monster is terrorizing teams on a nightly basis and making it look easy. Fellow NBA players are acknowledging his dominance. LeBron James has gone on to say that Antetokounmpo is “on the path to greatness, that’s for sure, if he’s not already there.” That is definitely high praise to be receiving from one of the top two NBA players of all time.
Giannis Antetokounmpo has gone through emotional struggles recently. Before the season started, he lost his father who had been a source of inspiration in his life and a role model he looked up to. After scoring a career-high 44 points against the Portland Trailblazers, on October 21, he said to a sideline reporter that he dedicated the game to the memory of his late father. Giannis Antetokounmpo is a humble player and a role model to how more players should carry themselves. This season he is looking to put the team on his shoulders and carry them to new heights. The Bucks will be fighting this season for a #2 seed, in the east, and a deep playoff run. It seems that the Bucks are in good hands with Antetokounmpo leading the way.
