The MonsterVerse is a huge project from the Warner Bros. With that comes super intense movies of monster titans going at it. If any of these movies have taught anything, it is that the monsters are not just monsters. They too have character. With the new movie Godzilla vs. King Kong coming out on March 31, we have just about a month left. According to Yahoo.com, “Godzilla vs. Kong, above all else, is a story about two misunderstood beings.” These monsters are just there to defend whatever they are defending, whether it is their home, or someone they love.
People are hoping that this movie will be a better version than the original released in 1962. Tate Virkler, a senior at Hillgrove High School, says, “The original in my opinion was okay. It was extremely lacking in areas as well as animation in others was lacking. Hopefully, this film can improve on all aspects.” There are high hopes for this movie, especially with power levels of the different monsters. According to Screenrant.com, “Kong is no longer the heavy underdog he once was. First full trailer made that abundantly clear.” Since Skull Island, the film showed how strong King Kong is. This will make a good battle with Godzilla.
People want to see an absolute winner in this movie. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Wingard promised that there would be a winner. This is settling for many people, as they want to see a good battle with an ending that ultimately shows which one is stronger. Keith Parker, a sophomore at Hillgrove High School, says, “I like both of them, I honestly don’t know which one I would want to win; I honestly think they will team up against something in the end." The two monsters working together would make things interesting. It would not be entirely bad if one of them won, but then the two injured monsters must work with one another to fight a Ghidorah.
The trailer showed what to expect in the movie. Zachary Martin, a senior at Hillgrove High School says, “Some of the fight scenes looked cool.” People are getting excited, and the release date is not very far away. According to inspiredtraveler.ca, MonsterVerse is still ranked most viewed trailers in history, and also became fourth most liked movie promotion on YouTube. The trailers are exciting and hype up for the main event happening. In just a month, people will see Godzilla vs. Kong on the big screen. According to the rumors and what producers have said about it, it is going to be a good movie.
