With global warming and climate change around, Earth’s atmosphere is getting weaker. Human beings are not making anything better with their lifestyles and daily activities. Earth can thrive on its own without the help of mankind. However, the carelessness and underappreciation of this gift over the years is leading to destruction. It is time to reverse the cycle and help Earth heal and work as it is designed again.
Global warming and climate change has taken a toll on the world. Some causes of climate change are deforestation, an increase of livestock farming, fossil fuels and a simple thing such as garbage. All these causes have a common gas that is released: carbon dioxide, methane or nitrous oxide. When carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere, it acts like a natural reoccurring greenhouse gas. Meanwhile, methane absorbs the sun's heat, warming the atmosphere and nitrous oxide molecules stay in the atmosphere for an average of 114 years.
Global warming comes from a different aspect of climate change. Global warming is a long period of time where the Earth's temperature rises. This usually comes from a rise of concentration in greenhouse gasses. Farming, deforestation, fertilizers, oil drilling, natural gas drilling, permafrost and vehicle emissions are all examples of human activities that can and are harming the atmosphere. If this continues to remain the same, a few long-term effects could be a decrease in sea ice, an increase in permafrost thawing, increases in heat waves and heavy precipitation.
Some suggestions to help the atmosphere recover are: using reusable energy sources, reducing water waste, start driving fuel efficient cars and more. This could help sea levels stay consistent, stop glaciers from shrinking, stop permafrost from thawing and keep temperatures consistent. These methods would not stop climate change, but they could slow it down. When talking about global warming, there are more effortless solutions such as eating less meat, planting more trees and burning fewer fossil fuels.
Doing the following could improve the health and livelihoods of millions and improve energy efficiency, according to Nationalgeographic.com. New and better jobs will develop. Economic growth, cleaner air, new technology for cars and homes will evolve. Intelligent heating and cooling systems will be more prevalent. These are all positive effects and opportunities of bringing global warming and climate change to an end. Future generations will not have to worry about the world collapsing or Antarctica's glaciers melting rapidly or breathing in toxic chemicals. Instead, Earth will be progressing towards a reality of the longevity you all hope for generations to come.
