It is the 70th anniversary of (NATO) the alliance between the United States, Albania, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Czech, Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, and the United Kingdom. Donald Trump decided to comment that the president of France, Emmanuel Macron, was brain death. President Macron later corrected President Trump about an ISIS fighter. President Macron proceeded to warn the other countries within the alliance that the U.S was no longer to be relied on. President Trump did not appreciate the comment towards the United States. After that was stated President Trump started that the relationship between the U.S. and European members of NATO are not discussing. This issue has caused many problems within the NATO group.
ISIS is a terrorist group that has been around for quite some time. They are mainly from France, Germany, and the UK President Trump states. A pattern that keeps being spoken about is how President Trump keeps insulting people, how he will soon be cut off by the rest of the world, and how it would impact his career and the rest of the country. “Our country if affect by everything that Donald Trump does, because he’s the president, he is the leader of he country, his actions affect the people.” Alana Abraham. She makes it clear that since he is the leader of the country that everyone in it is affected good or bad. Adding to the conflict Donald Trump stated, “Would you like some nice ISIS fighters?” this made President Macron disturbed since he wanted to add that they come mostly from France. The insults might not be directly towards the president of French but it does affect him since he is in charge of the country. “Quote”... The comments are the main reason he is in trouble with the France president. President Trump is still dealing with the repercussions of what he said and has been criticized by more than just President Macron.
The 70th anniversary was supposed to be a celebration of unity but has turned into an argument between the two presidents. President Macron has made fact clear so no more mistakes will be made in the future. The controversy started with Donald Trump and is not over even though the backlash was from Emmanuel Macron. There are a lot of problems to be solved with this but it is simmering down. Though NATO is still united, there could be some further problems along the road.
