As we approach fall season, we also approach hurricane season. But aside from hurricanes, other natural disasters can include tornadoes, droughts, cyclones, earthquakes, tsunamis and so many more. But flooding can be both an indirect result of some of these things and can happen on its own. Georgia does not have to worry much about flooding as much as a more coastal state like Florida, but it is possible for Georgia to experience flooding.
Ava is a upperclassman. She had valid takes and opinions. “Um, well first of all, it destroys everything you own and worked for, and it can kill people.” She stated. Ava states that floods can occur from river runoff, or rain. She also says, “Keep drains unclogged, or check on each other during that time.” “Hurricanes, tsunamis, heavy long rains, and um, I guess rivers in a way because a dam could break or something.” She spoke on flood causes.
Tyler is a sophomore, that claims floods can hurt people and their things. “Well, you can't really prevent a flood, it’s a natural thing that just happens unfortunately,”, He spoke. Tyler estimated about 10,000 dollars is lost after floods. “Cars, houses, buildings... valuables in those things.” He spoke. “They don’t differ in my opinion because like, they both have buildings and [Last Name] 2 they both have lots of people, and they both can be anywhere land-wise.” Tyler quoted about floods. Michael is a upper classman, and he thinks a flood lasts about 2 days long, “In the fall because that’s Hurricane season.”, he spoke. Michael also claims that flood aftermath is costly and affects people heavily. “It can cost a lot after, since all the [stuff] you owned is damaged now.” Michael said. He had words about flood news too. “I don’t know bruh, but I've seen floods on the news,”, he said. “I think that rushing water would... well no. I think heavy rain would be worse because its nonstop for a long period of time and that [stuff] can go through your celling and [stuff].
So, with some takes and opinions from students, the flood topic can be covered pretty well. Based on the answers provided, flooding can be defined as costly, bad, and typically the result of a heavy rain. Floods have minimal benefits, other than maybe watering plants and a disconnection from your cellular data, but hurricane season is approaching, which is a major contributor to flooding, so let's hope for the best.
