One thing everyone loves about music (besides the songs, concerts, and out of this world music videos) is the artists themselves. And what’s better than one artist? Multiple Artist! Music groups are a constant staple in music culture. From The Beatles in the 60’s, to the The Jackson 5 in the 70’s, to Guns N’ Roses in the 80’s. And let's not forget TLC, Spice Girls, Nirvana, and Backstreet Boys in the 90’s. Even today groups and bands are apparent. You have Fall Out Boy, 5 Seconds of Summer, and Panic At The Disco.
Unfortunately there comes a time when the groups have to break up. It happened to Destiny’s Child, NSYNC, The Vamps, and One Direction. Lately break up fever has hit a very popular girl group: Fifth Harmony.
Bad news for Harmonizers, the group announced Monday that after six years together, they need to take some time apart to pursue “solo endeavors”. Fifth Harmony was created by Simon Cowell on the X-Factor in 2012. The group originally had Normani Hamilton, Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, Lauren Jauregui, and Camila Cabello.
For some fans this isn’t a surprise considering Camila Cabello left the group a year ago to start her solo career. Her exit was public and full of drama with the girls saying that Camila gave them no warning that she was leaving. Camila now has a successful career with popular hits like “Havana".
Since her departure people have been wondering when the rest of the members would split up too. Many fans are concerned that the hiatus is permanent and that the group will not come back together; which is fair considering it’s been almost three years since One Direction announced their hiatus and have yet to reunite. But Fifth Harmony has assured fans that this hiatus is only temporary. But the question on every fans mind is, “How long is temporary?” Hopefully this hiatus leads to some great music from the girls as they start their careers.
