Christmas In July?

Christmas is described as the most wonderful time of the year. Some see it as just a song lyric, but a lot of people see it as a reality. When November 1st comes along, it is basically Christmas in some students’ eyes.
Hannah Congrove, a sophomore at Paulding County High School, says, “November 1st of course!”, when asked when she starts listening to Christmas music. However, Gabby Scott, a junior at Kennesaw Mountain High School, is so extreme in her love for Christmas that she says, “I listen to Christmas music all year round, but mainly in July and August because I am excited for it.”
Christmas decorations are another big part of the holiday season. “A few days after Thanksgiving.”, says Lauren Lovelace, a sophomore at North Paulding High School, when asked when she puts up her Christmas decorations.” Gabby Scott also says, “YOU ALREADY KNOW, we go all out for Christmas decorations.”, when asked if she puts up a lot of a little bit of decorations for Christmas.
Thanksgiving is one of the most overlooked holidays. People celebrate Halloween, but when November 1st rolls around, it is all Christmas from there on out. Hannah Congrove says, “I wish it went straight to Christmas.” Lauren Lovelace also says, “I love Halloween, but not so much the Thanksgiving food, so after Halloween my mind is set on Christmas.”
People love Christmas for many different reasons, music, decorations, presents, etc., but what is the real reason for Christmas? Gabby Scott says, “It is about Jesus’s birth, not just a day for all of us to get presents and be greedy.”
Christmas happens every year, obviously, so most of us have fun family traditions. “My family watches the 13 days until Christmas movie marathon thing. We all get in our matching pajamas and go pick out our Christmas tree as well.”, says Gabby Scott.
The holidays are a very stressful, but fun time of year. There is a lot of love and memories throughout the whole season of Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Most people’s favorite holiday is Christmas, but some feel we should all give Thanksgiving more credit. However, I think we can all agree that Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year.
