Is Hillgrove High school 8chool in need of change for the better? There are many attributes that Hillgrove has that they excel at and make the school remarkable, but there are also many attributes that need fixing. Something that needs fixing are the school bathrooms, and many agree also. According to Ashlyn, “The restrooms would be so good, but students decide that they want to do things they are not supposed to do in the bathrooms, and they mess it up and give the custodians even more work. I do not necessary say it is the school's fault it’s more of the students, but the administrators need to do a better job of policing the bathrooms and trying to stop what they are doing because no one wants to walk into the bathroom and smell what students were doing, here it, and see it too.” Hillgrove's bathrooms are one of the most encouraged places to get fixed by many students because what students are doing makes it unpleasant to go in there and use the bathroom in peace. The most talked about subject when talking about what Hillgrove needs to change is dress code. Women at the school believe that they are being targeted and have no freedom of what they wear. Mrs. Stewart created the 6 B’s Rules which mean you cannot show any, Butt, Boxers, Bra’s, Boobs, Bellies, and the bottom of your Back. When creating these rules, it disregards a lot of trends that are happening at the time so when Women dress up like the trend, they get dress coded. According to a female who does not believes this, she expresses, “I would say the dress codes are not bad, it is just people think it is so horrible because what the trendy clothes are at the time are not the most school appropriate, and they dress like they are grown. I do feel like girls are targeted more but it's for a reason because there are a lot of terrible things that happen to women now-a-days.” This shows her point of view. According to another person who believe they are being targeted they indicated, “Women are at more of the receiving end than males because we can’t wear anything we want to wear, anytime we wear shorts, a little cropped shirts, hoodies, and certain shirts that you can see the bra string we get dress coded and it’s unfair because all of the dress codes go to the women of this school and the males don’t get any because they have nothing to worry about because they won’t every get dress coded.” Both sides put a very interesting point of view but there are changes that need to happen, and not everything is going to satisfy everyone.
