KIRK was awarded number one on the Billboard 200 charts. DaBaby has collaborated with many other artists like, LilBaby, Nicki Minaj, YG, and others. LilBaby and DaBaby recently collaborated and made the hit single Baby . There are many controversies that surround the genre of rap. People believe that it is inappropriate and objectifying towards women, but DaBaby brings something different to the table. At Hillgrove High School there are many students who are familiar with DaBaby’s many hit songs.
Kyra Parks is a sophomore at Hillgrove High School. She is a huge fan of rap music and DaBaby. She states, “ DaBaby makes you focus on his rap flow and beats instead of objectifying women. He is popular because of how everybody can listen to him and vibe.” Most of the time when listening to rap music people tend to not pay attention to the lyrics of a song and rather focus on the vibe and the beat. In DaBaby’s music, people are able to vibe and relate to his music, whether it is because of his goofy personality and videos or rather the story or message he portrays through his songs.
Jordan Amellet is a sophomore at Hillgrove High School. She has been a fan of DaBaby since 2018. She says, “ I feel energetic, and I feel like I want to dance. I like the beat and what he’s saying. Not gonna lie he is sometimes ‘derogatorive’ towards women, but I think his flow is what sells his music.” There are all different types of people with their own opinion like questioning, whether rap music is good for the ears of young adults, but rap is meant to bring people together. DaBaby raps about all types of things, but he shares his laughter with others and shows people how to live a little and have fun.
