Where Did The Coronavirus Start?

“The virus, first reported in China, has swept across Asia and now has sparked new outbreaks in Europe and the United States.” “People began coming down with COVID-19 in the Wuhan region of central China” NBC News reports. “Like many viruses, the COVID-19 virus probably passed from animals to humans in some way, although it hasn’t yet been scientifically shown” NBC News reports. “And the virus does show some similarities to coronaviruses carried by horseshoe bats, said Ian Jones, a professor of virology at the University of Reading in England” NBC News reported. “The virus also may spread when someone touches a surface infected by the droplets, then touches their mouth or face”The Scientist reports.
The exact location of where the coronavirus came from is not all the way figured out. Whether it is from an animal or from biological warfare experiments in China. A student who attends Hillgrove Highschool, Morgan McQuagge, says, “ if people that are sick stay in their house then not many more people will die or get sick from this virus”. Morgan McQuagge says this virus is very serious to her. Another student who attends Hillgrove, Morgan Lunsford, states, “ I think it is mainly older people and little kids who are affected by this virus because they have good [weak] immune systems”. She also thinks that people who are sick should remain at home until they make sure they are better, by going to the doctor. Kenly Benton, a junior at Hillgrove High school, says, “If I was sick at this point I would definitely stay away from others”. Benton also said that if people work hard enough they will be able to find a cure and stop all of the deaths due to this disease.
“The World Health Organization has labeled the coronavirus outbreak a “very high” risk of spread and impact, but has so far stopped short of declaring it a global pandemic.” Some people do not take the coronavirus seriously, but some do. If people who are sick stay away from other people, stores, schools, and other public places then it is less likely for the virus to keep streading. However, it is hard to do that when it takes a while to actually know you are sick or you have the virus. The coronavirus spreads by respiratory droplets, created when people sneeze, cough, talk or blow their noses. Researchers are not planning on giving up. They plan to find a solution to this deadly disease.
