This past weekend college football began. Every Saturday families get together to watch these games. There are many debates on how certain teams will play this season and who for sure will end up making it to the championship. Football is a very big phenomenon to most people, especially in the South. People devote their Saturdays to these kinds of games. Speaking to a few people to get their view on what happened this past weekend and how they feel about what went down.
Gabby Ramey, a Hillgrove Highschool sophomore, said a few words on this past weekend and everything that has been going on in the realm of college football. “Um I would have to say my favorite team is Auburn because my mom went there.” Also talking about which game went the most interesting she stated, “The Georgia State vs. Tennessee because it was completely unexpected because Georgia State won, and Tennessee lost. It was very shocking and crazy because everyone thought it would be Tennessee.” Another big question going around is who is going to make it to the championship this year. Gabby believes, “Clemson and Alabama because they are the best teams.”
Keaton Rine, also a student of Hillgrove Highschool. Also, an Auburn fan and grew up watching them. He hands down thinks the most overrated team is, “Alabama because everyone is a bandwagon for them and only cheers for them when there winning.” The last person interviewed was Ellie Flynn, a Hillgrove Highschool student. She also believes that Clemson and Alabama will make the championship. Asking her why she thinks people love to watch his sport so much and she responded, “Because it's like where they went to school and like it's like their school so it's like how we feel about Hillgrove.”
Most people have different views and perspectives on college teams and football in general. However, the quoted Auburn fans above seem to share similar opinions. Such as they all believed that Alabama and Clemson would make it to the playoffs, not much would change, and they are Auburn fans. There were also some surprises in their eyes about how Georgia State had the capability to beat Tennessee. College football is all about spending time with family and devoting your Saturdays to football. The atmosphere is full of excitement and gives you something to look forward to and root for all the time.
