Lil Uzi Vert released a new album on March 6, 2020, after waiting three years for another album after Luv is Rage 2. The album had mixed reviews from fans as they listened to his most recent work. With the album having already 47.7 million streams on spotify it is working its way up to #1 on the billboards 200 chart. On his 18 song album he also had no collabs. We went around Hillgrove High school asking students on their opinion on his creation.
Lil uzi waited three years to drop another album after teasing it for 2 years. Fans grew impatient with the album as bemnet bekele a student stated, “ The album was not really worth the wait.” Another student James brock said, “ I think the album should have been longer than 18 songs considering we all waited a long time.” Lil Uzi fans claimed that he remade the whole album after a bunch of the songs on the orginal songs got leaked. Most students that were asked agreed that the original album was probably better. Rumors also have come out that he might drop an extended version of the album. A lot of fans who are students at Hillgrove want him to drop this extended version, which will likely boost his sales majorly.
When it came down to no features, a lot of people did not like it. Jace, a student, claimed, “ Honestly it sounds better with other people. He is good as far like as compatiblity like he sounds good, but I wish there were more features with artists.” That is a common opinion a lot of fans share about his new album. Although some disagree, like James and another student proclaimed, “ I think it was smart and everybody should have an album with no features.” After asking who they would want him to collaborate with in the feature, the most popular answers were NBA Youngboy and Playboi Carti.
With all the album sales and streams a discussion on whether he deserves a grammy for this album is debuted. A lot of students said no and that it was not his best album. Jace responded, “ His previous album was probably his best.” With his previous album being #1 for 24 weeks, most fans do not think this album will top that. Despite most fans agreeing that the album could have been better, they still find him to be an inspiration in the music industry.
