Chick-Fil-A Faces Public Prosecution

San Antonio's city council has banned Chick-Fil-A’s restaurant in the airport due to the company's Christian beliefs. Chick-Fil-A is well known for their beliefs such as being closed on Sunday’s, the legacy of anti- LGBTQ behavior, and the Christian walk. On Thursday, March 22nd, 2019 six members of the San Antonio city council rejected the inclusion of Chick-Fil-A from the new food, beverages and Retail Prime Concession Agreement for the airport. Councilman Roberto Trevino said, “Everyone has a place here, and everyone should feel welcome when they walk through our airport.”
When 16 year old Elizabeth Spray was asked how she feels about their beliefs she replied, “They are inspiring and should be well respected for what they believe.” When Elizabeth was asked is it good they do not compromise she explained, “Yes, because we are not supposed to compromise or back down from the truth, but speak and live by the truth.” When she was asked should they be respected she said, “Yeah, because they stand up for their beliefs.”
When Criston Bivins of Villa Rica, Georgia was asked why do people get easily offended by Chick-Fil-A’s beliefs she stated, “People want to criticize others for what they believe and not be receptive or respectful of others belief.” When Criston was asked why is it hard to be receptive of others beliefs she said, “ It’s really mainly just because we want people to believe only how we believe, we become judgmental and then disrespectful.” When she was asked why people do not respect Chick-Fil-A she said, “Because some people know what they believe is the truth and just honestly don't want to hear it or accept it.”
When Lacey Chandler was asked if she supports Chick-Fil-A she stated, “Yes, I love the food, atmosphere, Christian instrumental music and beliefs.” When Lacey was asked what is her favorite thing about Chick-Fil-A she explained, “The positive atmosphere, kindness and beliefs, because that is something very important to me.” When she was asked to describe Chick-Fil-A in one word she said, “Glorious.”
Chick-Fil-A is a well known fast food restaurant. It is not only popular for their chicken and food, but also the kindness, positivity and beliefs. They are sometimes rejected because of their beliefs, but they never back down from who they truly are. Chick-Fil-A has both offended but also inspired people based on their beliefs and will continue to be respected by many.
