A New Era For Camila Cabello

Former Fifth Harmony member, Camila Cabello, is on the road to her second album. Back in December 2016, Cabello decided to part ways with her group to experience life as a soloist and to find her individuality. Ever since then Cabello has been unstoppable. Her past single Havana sold 1 million copies in its first week, has over 1 billion streams on Spotify and her current single, featuring Shawn Mendes, Senorita, reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
Cabello is now making her new album. According to Rolling Stone, Cabello’s second album is titled Romance. Although there is not a specific release date yet, Cabello wanted to give a glimpse of what her new era will be like. Cabello has not released a solo single since 2018, so she does not want to leave her fans hanging with just one song. She released two singles titled Shameless and Liar. Cabello wanted to add visuals and context for her singles so her fans can know the theme behind them. The story behind the songs is about falling deeply in love with someone, and this is the story of her life. Cabello’s new era is about past relationships and experiences she has faced with them.
12th grader, Talisa Byrd, loves her new singles. She stated, “She definitely puts a new vibe with her singles, something that's new and different”. Cabello is bringing a different side of her. Byrd, stated: “It definitely sets her apart from what she used to do in Fifth Harmony, but I like it.” High Schooler, Venicia Twymon, thinks her new singles are awesome even though she's not a big fan of hers. She exclaimed, “I love Camila's voice, she has a very good voice and stage presence!” Each single gives a different type of genre that speaks differently to each person. Byrd has a favorite song between the two singles. She said, “I would prefer her new single Liar, the instrumental is probably my favorite part.” Camila has a lot of success but not everyone has heard about her. Twymon always hears her songs on the radio and sees her on top of the charts, however she explained: “Although she's at the top of the charts, I don't think she's fully connected with this generation.” Cabello has a high chance of becoming the most popular artist of today's generation.
Cabello is at the prime of her career. With releasing two new singles and working on her upcoming album, she is going to take the music industry by storm. Byrd feels she is doing amazing with her career right now. She stated, “Yes she’s at her prime, with her latest single with Shawn Mendes. It did really well, and I think she will do good on her new album.” Cabello is starting a new era for her music career, and it will be a long time until she is done killing the game.
