Black Friday Shopping

On November 29, prices of items in stores are dramatically dropped. The stores flood with people trying to buy everything they want before they are all gone. It is an exciting time for everyone who does Black Friday shopping. Many parents go to buy presents at cheaper prices for their kids on Christmas. Kids love to go and have fun with their friends and enjoy the craziness that happens inside the stores. To others, they just do not enjoy Black Friday shopping, it may not be something that they would like to do, they may be the ones to stay back at the house. People like to just go shop wherever; they do not have a specific place they would choose. “I do not really have one, it depends where we go, and I will usually find something I like.”
Lane Calkins, a student at Naples High School, shared what she thinks about Black Friday. “My favorite part about Black Friday is having my friends to be there and help me pick out stuff I should buy.” When shopping on that Friday, it gets crazy, so some have a preference when they go. “I like to go a little later, but when I want to go to the stores I like, I would rather get there when they open.” With everyone wanting to get into the stores first, the lines can get long. “It usually takes longer at more popular stores, like Best Buy and store like that, but smaller stores, they do not take as long.”
Sophie Macleod, a student at IMG Academy talked about Black Friday. “Yeah, I think it is fun and I love going with my friends.” Stores get crazy fast, so many people like to get there at a perfect time. “I think, probably when the stores open, so you have more options before everyone buys everything in the store.” Unlike Calkins, Macleod likes to go to a specific store to shop at, “Urban Outfitters, because I love to shop there, but normally their clothes are expensive. When I go shop there on Black Friday, they have reasonable prices.” Even though when you go shopping on the 29th, you have fun, there are things that make it bad. Macleod says, “Waiting in the lines, it usually takes forever, and it takes away time from shopping at other stores.”
Black Friday is an experience that everyone should try at some point in their life. The prices are dropped, and it is a time to have fun with the people you choose to go with. If you go with friends or family, it is a good way to spend time with one another just before the holidays.
