The Star Wars franchise is now on its second Disney + exclusive show after The Mandalorian. The Bad Batch is set to come out May 4th, 2021. According to bleedingcool.com, “Star Wars: The Bad Batch follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in ‘The Clone Wars’) as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War.” To see some of the favorited clones come back for a new show is amazing. People get to see these characters back in action, maybe good or bad. Keith Parker, a sophomore at Hillgrove High School, says, “All the clones you grew up with are now bad, and you have to watch these misfit clones you just met a year ago kill them.” The website cbr.com says, “The Bad Batch first appeared in a set of unfinished story reels after the cancellation of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. They would make their first proper appearance in the seventh and final season of The Clone Wars, which aired on Disney+.” This is happening right after Clone Wars, so something big will be in play here.
The trailer basically shows order 66. This will mean that emotions could get out of check for some characters. Ben Cox, a sophomore at Hillgrove High School, says,” I think Order 66 it will make the Bad Batch upset cause they have to kill they’re own kind.” Many emotions can go off from these clones. According to slashfilm.com, “The new spin-off series coming to Disney+ in May follows the titular team of misfit clone commandos who are now one of the most elite special forces in the galaxy.” So with defective clones having these emotions, the story may get ugly. They all have different abilities that can help out the team, so it could mean bad news for the clones that are now bad, which may become stormtroopers in the show.
The biggest impact this show can have is the emotion. There was so much emotion in the clone wars, especially at the end when order 66 was called. All the clones killing the Jedi after working with them for so long, suddenly being betrayed. There is a lot they could do with emotions in this series. Wes Kline, a sophomore at Hillgrove High School, says, “I really hope it is, the amount of emotion it brought into the final season of Clone Wars was insane, so it would be great to see that again with these characters.” There is a lot of potential for this show, and with about two weeks to go, much more could be announced about this misfit group.
