A/V Tech Making Upgrades

Usable audio and video tech is important in the class audio/video technology. Seems pretty self explanatory, when making videos it is important to have equipment that allows for it to be just how the filmmakers envision it, but in this class it has not been so easy. Since the beginning of this semester the audio/video class has been struggling to work with the outdated equipment, but now thanks to the new teacher, Mrs. Watson, this dream of new equipment has finally become a reality.
The original old equipment that has now been replaced, created much frustration for the students of the class. “The old equipment, some of it wouldn’t record when you hit the record, also he mics have been used so much that the audio became terrible.”, states student Justin Fialol. Cameras in use would power off randomly and refuse to turn on, audio mics would refuse to work, and the tripods had become lopsided and loose, causing it to shake if it were to be placed down. This all created tremendous stress for the students as they found it hard to juggle between deadlines and the actual accessibility of said equipment. It then became a god send, when Mrs. Watson announced during class that her request has finally been approved to get new equipment. Instead of the outdated equipment the class had, it would now be replaced with new, professional cameras, tripods and audio setup clips. “I don’t think any of the previous teachers pushed for equipment like Mrs. Watson did. They just kind of accepted the fact that our equipment was bad.”, states student Justin Fialol.
Getting this equipment however was not so easy, it was an uphill climb for Mrs.Watson. For it to even be considered in the first place, Mrs.Watson had to send email after email in order to convince the county that the class was in need of new equipment. This persistence had lasted over months, waiting for the county to finally approve her request. All this time and stress became more than awarded however. On the day when she first announced the new equipment to her class, she was greeted by an applause by the students. This made her so emotional that she began to cry. “That just really made my day. When I teared up I meant it. I was really touched by that. I’m still tearing up thinking about it.”, states the teacher Mrs.Watson.
Mrs.Watson has made her mark, for this equipment will be used for years to come, finally allowing students to live up to their own creative potential and the ability to have fun along the way.
