One of the biggest highlights for 2019 will probably consist of Ariana Grande’s world tour for her critically acclaimed album, Sweetener along with her upcoming album, Thank U Next. Ariana first announced the Sweetener world tour Thursday, October 25, 2018 via Twitter. The vocally gifted pop singer has already made history with Thank U Next, her fifth studio album. Not only is she the first female artist to simultaneously have top 40 Billboard Hot 100 hits, but she is also the second artist to hold the number 1, 2, and 3 spots on the Hot 100 simultaneously, after The Beatles in 1964. With a total of 173 our dates, Ariana kicked things off March 18th in Albany, New York and will conclude the rest of her tour dates in the U.S., June 26th in Toronto, before touring overseas. It has been reported that Ariana’s ticket prices for tour are currently ranging from $66 to $9,900. If they were unaware before, people definitely know now who Ariana Grande is.
When asked why she thinks it is being said this is Ariana’s best tour yet, Hillgrove junior, Hannah Bamfield stated, “I think because she has a new sound and her personality seems to have changed a little.” Naomi Feleke who is a junior at Ite Melloni high in Parama, Italy, responded with, “Maybe because this album is something different from the others.” Sequoyah junior, Tyenia Mitchell, passionately claimed, “Because she sang how SHE wanted to and there was so much realness and emotion relating to her life.”
Hannah’s response was “NASA.”, when it came to what song she would love to see performed during the tour at some point. Naomi quoted, “Maybe ‘Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Board’ and ‘Needy’”. Tyenia excitedly exclaimed, “Oof there’s sooo many...is all of them a choice? If not, maybeee ‘Fake Smile’ or ‘Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored’ because the choreography for those songs is so good.”
Despite finding a couple of Ariana’s songs appealing, neither Hannah nor Naomi plan on going to the Sweetener concert this year. “No because I don’t really listen to her.”, said Hannah. “No because her genre is not my type and I wouldn’t enjoy the concert at all even if she has a good voice.” Tyenia on the other hand, is a huge fan who revealed, “Yes I plan on going to it because she’s my favorite artist.” She even admitted that she would be willing to pay up to $250 for tickets.
Known for her insanely talented vocal skills, Ariana Grande is doing so much more than just singing high notes. It is being said that the singer-songwriter is telling a story through her two combined albums. As fans across the nation anticipate Ariana visiting their state, the pop singer continues to sell out stadiums.
