On October 30, 2019, Apple launched their newest version of Air Pods. These Air Pods are called Air Pods Pro. They cost two-hundred and forty-nine dollars. The Air Pods Pro are water resistant, have a new ear tip fit, better sound than the other two Air Pods, and have a transparency mode which is where you can hear things in your surroundings. There is also a noise cancellation mode.
There are many reasons why Apple could have released these new Air Pods, like upgrades to the next ones. “I think they made another pair of Air Pods to make money off of people,” Jabria Young says. This may be true, but why are people buying Air Pods? Why not other wireless earbuds? Amere Hamilton says, “More people have iPhones and the connectivity.” Amari Graham thinks, “Because they are name brand.” Apple does have many other products: phones, laptops, computers, televisions, iPads, iPods. “All of them for the most part,” Hamilton states he likes all of Apple’s products.
As said before, there are many other types of headphones/earbuds. Why are Air Pods the most popular? “They [Air Pods] charge wireless [unlike wired earbuds]... that’s it,” Graham says. Young says, “ More people want them [Air Pods] cause they don’t wanna get joaned for having wires.” There are many other good options too. “Beats are fye and they [are] mad loud,” Young states. Tahj Reese says, “I love them, they don’t break easily. You don’t have a cord to worry about.” Maybe the problem is just wired headphones, “Headphones with wires are so ugly,” Young says. Reese says, “They’re annoying. I don’t like them. The cord bothers me when I’m running with music.”
Apple’s Air Pods have had many advantages, but also many disadvantages. “They look cool, but they’re easy to lose,” Graham says about the first generation Air Pods. Graham is not very fond of the Air Pods Pro though, “They’re smaller, but they’re ugly.” Young says, “I don’t know, actually some advantages are that you get props for having enough money to buy them.” Reese says,“The battery life is really long for both the case [and] Air Pods.” Lastly, Hamilton thinks, “The connectivity.” Overall, the advantages of Air Pods is the fact that they are cool and do not have wires, but what are the advantages of having wires? “With wires, you can’t lose them,” Young says.
Overall, a lot of people like to listen to music privately. Whether they are listening on headphones/earbuds with wires, or headphones/earbuds without wires, everyone is getting the same thing, Music.
