On June 6, 1946, the NBA was formed in New York city. Since then the National Basketball Association has grown to be the second most watched sports association in the world. The 2019-2020 season began October 22 and has already taken off in the new season. There are many questions and opinions from loyal fans as to what this season has in store, and what teams will hold the highest rankings and titles.
Every year, two teams make it to the NBA finals and play until a winner is titled. Avery Kale, a Hillgrove high school sophomore, gives his opinion on what teams he believes will be seen in the finals. “Clippers and Bucks, both are great defensive teams with top players in the league.” The Los Angeles Clippers currently hold a 3-1 record, while the Milwuakee Bucks hold a 2-1 record, both teams possibly stand a chance at a title in the finals. Kale also continues saying, “A good defense leads to a great offense… and the clippers have that.” Does Los Angeles really have the potential to go far this season?
Throughout the seasons, rookies have become more and more talented. Each season a new batch of newbys are drafted into the league, “I think this draft class has more talent than any class since 2003 because the top three picks were all insane in college,” believes Walker Martin. New players like Zion Williamson, RJ Barrett, and Romeo Langford are just a few examples of the new players drafted in 2019 who have the skill sets to become great players in the league. “Every pick in the top fifteen have promise,” These promising newcomers will hopefully lead their teams to great victory in the 2019 season.
Once again, the Los Angeles Clippers are believed to hold the most potential this season according to Jonathan Chastain, another Hillgrove sophomore. He believes, “The clippers and the 76ers,” will be the final teams left in the finals. Chastain believes as well this years rookies have, “Become more consistent.” The new players each season are looked upon for fresh talent. The NBA has become an extremely successful association watched by millions of people, and enjoyed by friends and family. What the 2019-2020 season has in store will play out with new games each day!
